In March 2011 on International Women’s Day, Ms. Jiwani worked with Board Members from Zonta International’s Hamilton Chapter to launch UN Women in Hamilton, Ontario and also celebrate the history and role of women on International Women’s Day. Ms. Jiwani’s speech riveted the speech and she used it as an opportunity to raise the plight of women and raise funds for Jared’s Place, a legal advocacy network for women and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women.
