2015 Women’s Rights Seminar – “Empower Women”

The Canadian Human Rights Voice is honoured to present Ms. Almas Jiwani – President of UN Women Canada as the chief guest for our upcoming Women’s Rights Seminar. Ms. Jiwani will deliver the keynote address. Ms. Jiwani is a fiercely vocal and internationally renowned champion for gender equality and women’s social, economic, and political empowerment. The president has gained international recognition and commendations from governments and the media, and has been honoured with numerous Awards globally for her work on gender equity and women’s empowerment.

We are proud to host our 2nd Annual Women’s Rights Seminar on Monday, March 9th, 2015 from 12:30pm to 3:00 pm at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario at Queen’s Park, Committee Room 230. This seminar will be attended by activists, professors, elected officials, human rights organizations, and students.

Various topics will be discussed by human rights experts under the umbrella of “Gender Based Violence”, domestically and internationally. Topics of discussion include: Education, Workplace Abuse/Violence, Child Marriage/Human Trafficking, and Sexual Violence in Sri Lanka.
