In August 2010, Ms. Almas Jiwani was a keynote speaker at the Pilot International conference on Climate Change, Environment and Global Sustainable Development. At the conference, Ms. Jiwani addressed CEOs, academics, community leaders and government officials on the benefits of climate change and the possibility of renewable energy projects from a women’s empowerment lens. Pursuant to the conference, Ms. Jiwani was featured in the Daily Monitor Newspaper where she worked to convince political leaders, civilians and stakeholders on public advocacy and engagement work. In the aftermath of the conference, Ms. Jiwani was awarded the Humanitarian Award from Pilot International.
